Did you know you can visit a replica of the Batavia ship in Lelystad? The original ship was built in 1628 but was shipwrecked on her maiden voyage to East India (today’s Indonesia).
The same shipyard is currently reconstructing another 17th century ship; the Zeven Provinciën (the Seven Provinces).
