Today marks the 34th anniversary of Kerwin Duinmeijer’s death, a 15-year old Antillean boy who was stabbed by a teenage skinhead in the center of Amsterdam. After the attack, Kerwin tried to hail a taxi to the hospital but was refused because the driver didn’t want to have blood on his backseat. Kerwin died shortly after he was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Every year a memorial is being held in Amsterdam to commemorate Kerwin’s violent and racist death.
