Did you know that coming Saturday is ‘Vlaggetjesdag’ (Flag Day) in Urk? The fishing village in Flevoland celebrates the arrival of the first harvest of fish of the year.
Ships are decorated with a rainbow of flags and locals put on their traditional costumes while dancing to folk music.
A similar festival takes place in Scheveningen on 9 June 2012.
