Did you know it is customary in the Twente region to celebrate the birth of a newborn baby with a ‘krentenwegge’? Krentenwegge is a loaf of bread filled with lots of currants and may come in lengths of 1.5 meter or more. Smaller versions of sliced krentenwegge are for sale at pastry shops and are a popular snack during coffee time.
